Sapphire comes in almost every color under the sun and when it is red it is called Ruby! Most people expect Sapphire to be blue, which is the most available color, but there are many colors that for many years were not that popular. Over the past twenty years "fancy" colored sapphires have gained tremendous popularity and the "teal" or blue/green color in particular.

This is a fine example of the deep blue/green color from Sri Lanka.
